Pro-Life Resolution
WHEREAS, the Republican National Committee (RNC) platform states: “We assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.” (GOP Platform, Section 3, The Fifth Amendment: Protecting Human Life, 2016),
AND WHEREAS, The MDGOP follows the platform of the RNC,
THEREFORE, let it be resolved by the Carroll County Republican Central Committee that: We assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed; and further assert preborn children are Human and worthy of Humane treatment.

Trump indictment:
The indictment of President Trump shows that radical elected officials who disregard the Constitution and the rule of law will stoop to any means necessary to control and subjugate the American people, including perverting the justice system with empty charges in order to affect an election and silence both a leading candidate and that candidate's supporters. President Trump chose not to pursue charges against Hillary Clinton because he did not want to weaponize the government to go after political opponents. His detractors should follow his example. The Carroll County Republican Party condemns this farcical indictment in the strongest possible manner.

**Resolution of the Carroll County Republican Central Committee on the October 7 Attacks in Israel and the Need to Support Israel and Combat Pro-Terrorist Rallies and Groups**
**Whereas**, on October 7, 2023, the state of Israel faced a devastating and unprecedented terrorist attack launched by Hamas, a Palestinian Islamist militant group, resulting in the loss of over 1,200 lives, including civilians and soldiers, and
**Whereas**, this attack, marked by its brutality and scale, represents the bloodiest day in Israel's history and the deadliest for Jews since the Holocaust, with tactics including a rocket barrage, incursions into Israeli territory, massacres at civilian gatherings, and kidnappings, and
**Whereas**, the international community remains divided in its response, with some countries denouncing the attacks as terrorism, while others blame the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories as the root cause, leading to a complex geopolitical scenario, and
**Whereas**, parallels can be drawn between these attacks and those of September 11, 2001, in terms of their terrorist nature and the threat they pose, though it is crucial to recognize the distinct contexts and actors involved in each situation, and
**Whereas**, reports have emerged of sympathizers portraying terrorists as victims, along with pro-terrorist rallies and certain college professors and groups expressing support for Hamas, thereby distorting the narrative and undermining the gravity of the atrocities committed, including heinous acts such as rapes and the murder of children,
**Now, therefore, be it resolved** that the Carroll County Republican Central Committee:
1. **Stands in Solidarity with Israel**: We express unwavering support for the state of Israel and its right to defend itself against terrorism and violent aggression.
2. **Condemns Hamas and its Allies**: We categorically condemn the terrorist actions of Hamas and any associated groups and recognize the necessity of global efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms.
3. **Urges for Educational Awareness**: We call for awareness programs in educational institutions to provide factual information about the nature of these attacks and the broader context of terrorism, and to counteract misinformation spread by pro-terrorist groups.
4. **Advocates for Policy Action**: We urge our elected officials to take strong stances against any form of support for terrorist groups and to pursue policies that reinforce the United States' commitment to combating global terrorism.
5. **Promotes Community Engagement**: We encourage our community members to engage in constructive dialogue about these issues, to understand the complexities of global terrorism, and to stand against the misrepresentation of terrorist acts as justified or legitimate.
6. **Commits to Monitoring and Responding**: We commit to remaining vigilant and responsive to any developments in this matter, ensuring that our community and policymakers are informed and engaged in supporting actions that uphold our values and security interests.
